VIRTUAL DUCATI MUSEUM
An interactive trip through the history of a legend
The Virtual Ducati Museum has been launched on www.ducati.com,
the official site of this Bolognese company. This project took
a lot of time and effort and was made possible thanks to the
collaboration of Kut Communications in Torino.
This is a creative and interactive interpretation of the real Ducati
Museum which is found at the company headquarters in Borgo Panigale.
This virtual version, which has been added to hundreds of web pages
dedicated to Ducatista history and traditions, offers tons of information
about the amazing history of Ducati's sport competitions. There are
three-dimensional models of some of the most famous bikes in the history
of the company available to study in detail, but most importantly, it is
possible to view all of the rooms of the museum at 360°.
Inaugurated on June 12th, 1998, the Ducati Museum has become, in less than a decade,
much more than a simple exhibition of race bikes. It has been compared to a time
machine where both old and new generations of fans come from all over the world and
fall in love with the company of Borgo Panigale. They get together to know and learn,
while having fun, the strong sense of tradition that has maintained a presence in
all Ducati motorcycles, whether they are for the street or races.
"The completion of this project was very important, particularly for me," declared Livio Lodi,
the curator of the Ducati Museum. "For a long time, we have wanted to offer everyone unable
to come and visit us an alternative that resembles, as closely as possible, the richness and
appeal of the museum. Now every Ducatista can explore the history of our company from their
own PC, like flipping through an old family album."
The virtual museum is expected to keep growing with time and the constant addition of new content,
including more 3D models of historical bikes. The Virtual Ducati Museum is accessible
at http://www.ducati.com/heritage/index.jhtml.
